Indoor pools

These homes take the term "indoor pools" to another level.

I think this basement's lazy river takes the cake.

I seriously don't get it.
Wouldn't the entire house be humid and moldy?!

But I guess I wouldn't mind visiting!

Big 10 Championship

A few days late, but had to reminisce about the first ever Big Ten Championship Game last weekend in Indianapolis.

After we made the 5-hour car trip to Indy,
we partook in Fan Fest.
(Note:  Thank goodness I am having a boy, so that "dad" can really enjoy this in years to come.  So many games that involved throwing/kicking/running!)

Game was unbelievable!
One for ESPN Classics, that's for sure.

And BB2 was there to witness history!

And now we're off to the Rose Bowl (read: Babymoon) over New Years!

Go Badgers!!

Things I'm loving right now

1.
ECOVER - the best liquid cleaner for the dishwasher EVER.
I am obsessed.
No streaks.  Sparkly clean.  Good for the earth.
What's not to love?!?

The "grapefruit and green tea" scent is subtle and clean.
I buy mine at Whole Foods,
but word on the street is that Walgreens carries this brand, too.  Holla!
{Link to coupons HERE.}
You will never go back to powdery Cascade.  Seriously.
Curious about trying their other products!

2.
Eggnog shakes from Culvers.

Holy deliciousness!
And I don't even like eggnog.
It tastes like a fancy vanilla shake,
with subtle hints of nutmeg and other Christmas-y spices.
Seriously, you must try!
And don't even think about checking the nutrition information.
After all:

3.
Baking soda.
Is that weird?  I guess not when you're mid-move and cleaning a lot.
Remember my post about this?
Well, I have tested it several times firsthand and yep, it works fabulously.
Now I'm thinking about trying this:

This preggo sure wouldn't mind a little California girl glow, just like LC.

4.
DIY re-usable coffee sleeves.

I not only think these would make adorable stocking stuffers,
but using one would also make me feel much less guilty/more green
about that Starbucks purchase.
Click {HERE} for the how-to.

5.
Skinnies with heels.

If only I could pull this look off right now...

What things are you loving this minute?

Christmas "scent"-sations

When it comes to filling your home with wonderful holiday aromas,
I am partial to three scents.
First up?
Yankee Candle's "Christmas in Paris."

Pine with a hint of cinnamon.  Mmmmm!
It smells just like this scratch-n-sniff Christmas book
I used to read as a kid around the holidays.
Ahhhh, memories...and who doesn't love to be reminded
of what Christmases were like as a child?!
I have been fortunate enough to find the large jar candles
at HomeGoods for less than $10 each.
Score.

And another holiday staple - Thymes "Frasier Fir" line.

A little more expensive, but sometimes you can snag a great deal after the holidays,
and stock up for next year!

As much as I love the idea of a freshly cut Christmas tree in the LR,
sometimes time and space prohibit this holiday tradition.
But with these amazing scents, your fake tree would fool even Aldo Leopold.

Finally,
what would home aromatherapy be without Wallflowers from B&BWorks?
Enter:  Cinnamon and Clove Buds.
No explanation needed.
Deeeeelish.

Get some.

Happy St. Nick's Day!

Could this be any more timely?

Didn't think so.
Now get to stuffing those stockings!
(And filling those shoes this evening, St. Nick!)

This blog rocks my world...

The Sassy Curmudgeon.
Specifically, this post about breastfeeding.
I quote:

"I have this book I read over the summer called "Breastfeeding Made Simple".  Today I pointedly farted on it."

Bahahaha!  F'ing priceless.
You must read it.

I personally try to only think about the wonderful "baby" things to come
(and block out all the inevitably painful things that are sure  to come),
but this is pretty damn hilarious.
And by hilarious, I mean that I am crying...
and contemplating putting on all-purpose nipple cream in anticipation.

(God forbid, I should ever find myself attempting to breastfeed in that position.)

Regardless,
I hope I am also able to laugh my way through the calamities of childbirth/rearing
as wittily as the Sassy Curmudgeon does!

Enjoy.

"I like your bangs"

It's true Reese, it's true.

Your annoying personality and dumping of Ryan Phillippe, then Jake Gyllenhaal?
Perhaps not so much.
But your bangs, I can groove on.

Now if only I could get mine to stop going the wrong way/accumulate enough grease to fry an egg...

Bookshelf bar

Hmmm, interesting concept.
Handy.
Especially if you're a lush.  A lazy lush.

Regardless, this styled bookshelf has me feeling inspired!
With the contents of this baby,
the owner is communicating to the planet:

"I have been all over the world.  I am smarter than shit.  And gosh darn it, I am one interesting mother f'er."

Wouldn't you agree?

Christmas cocoa

How adorable is this DIY hostess gift?
The answer is super adorable.

Bring to your next holiday party without breaking a sweat:

Place bagged cocoa in the middle of a small apothecary jar,
(or you could even use peppermint mocha mix!)
and fill the sides with peppermints and mini-marshmallows.
Finish with a simple bow and pretty tag, and voila!
A tasty homemade gift.

Tis the season!
