Orange you glad it's fall?

Normally this brazen shade isn't my favorite,
but I'm really loving these radiant pops of rich, luscious orange.

Chic...

Bohemian...

Preppy...

Don't mind if I do.
All three.
Before my skin sloughs off into shade "completely pasty white"!

Sweet tangerine dreams!

Favorite fall nails

Not only is fall my favorite season,
but it also means it's time to rock my favorite nail colors!
[Not that I dislike the vibrant bright summer colors or springy pastels,
but I guess I have rich blood when it comes to nail fashion. ;)]

Here they are, in no particular order...

OPI's "You Don't Know Jaques".
The perfect gray.  Flattering on everyone.

OPI's "Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ".
A rich, dark, raisiny-red.
I don't know who the heck Mrs. O'Leary is, but her BBQ hue
screams "Let's go pick apples and pumpkins and snuggle by the fire!"

OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark".
Purple so dark it's almost black.
A fall and winter staple.  Not to mention Halloween perfection.

Essie's "Going Incognito".
For when you're "feelin' so fly like a Cheesehead."
Gotta rock this dark emerald shade for Green Bay Packer games.

Essie's "Case Study".
A neutral brownish-khaki.
Work appropriate, season approved.

What are your favorite nail colors this season?

Accents

I'm not talking British or Bostonian, people.
I'm talking chairs.

We've been on the lookout for the perfect sofa,
but I think the accompanying accent chairs are equally important.
While the couch is where you lounge (and requires utmost comfort),
accent chairs speak to your space's aesthetic and personal style.

Here are some of my favorites:

I especially love pieces that are interesting in structure and texture,
that really bring that special architectural "something" to the space.
And I think if you're fortunate to find a matching pair,
it takes things to another level.
Kudos to you!

I'd been kinda digging this blue & white chevron set from HomeGoods.
Lord knows their price is right,
yet I couldn't commit to the color and now they're gone!
{That ALWAYS happens at HomeGoods.  So, if you like something, buy it stat!}
Slim pick'ins now.  Tested out this limey green pair...comfy.
But I definitely don't love. Drab city.

What's your favorite source for furniture??

If you know, please inform me & I will correctly cite!)

More link love

Since the huzz works for the United States Postal Service,
I have to give a shout out to some of the
new beautiful stamps you can find at your local post office.
Makes me want to send you all a letter on pretty stationary ASAP!

I am LOVING this vintage, copper, striped sweater dress from Madewell.
I want to wear it over skinny black pants with brown leather booties,
and walk around in the crisp fall air, sipping on pumpkin spiced lattes.
It screams "it's fall and I am one hot mama!"

I have a "10% off and free shipping" coupon to use,
but it would still run about $150.  :(  Booooo.

It's back-to-school time, kids!
And this DIY wall mirror from vintage rulers is pretty rad.
Love the creative design*sponge tutorials!

More home bars, please!
You know I love them. {HERE and HERE}
All you ever needed to know about styled bar carts at Simplified Bee...

I'm not surprised that PS22 finally caught a big break.  Remember them?
{HERE}
Did you see their darling 9/11 commercial?!
Chills.

Hope these gems have inspired you to have a good "case of the Mondays" today!

Happy Birthday!

Shout out to one of my very best friends on her special day...
So glad you're on my journey in life!
May this year be filled with hope, health, and good fortune.
You deserve it!

9/11

On the 10th Anniversary of 9/11,
I simply leave you with these quotes:

God Bless all the unsung heroes on that horrific day,
sincere condolences to all those who lost someone,
and prayers for a more positive and hopeful future!

First college football Saturday...for us!

Hands down.
My absolute favorite time of year.

(That's a sweet vision of last Thursday's season opener.)

While a night game is always fun,
there is NOTHING like waking up on a college football Saturday,
slipping into jeans, a red sweatshirt, and the craziest hat you can find,
and heading out into that crisp, apple-scented, fresh air
for a Wisconsin breakfast (read:  Bloody Mary & a big juicy brat)
and into that game day atmosphere that sends chills down your spine.

Madison, WI is "the" place to be on fall Saturdays
and I couldn't be happier to be a Badger!
Farmer's Market early this morning if we're lucky,
then tailgating up until kick-off. :)

A little Tommy Hilfiger tailgate to get you in the spirit...

You fancy, huh?

Slippers

With me being on my feet all day, everyday,
I think this fall trend is one I will certainly jump on.

And if Olivia Palermo is doing it,
it must be cool.
{I love the little crest decal.}

{P.S. I DESPISE her personality ~ Remember "The City" everyone? Bizatch ~
but the girl can dress herself.  No doubt.}
I even dig these leopard print slippers:

And with a gift card to Nordstrom's burning a hole in my pocket,
I may even scoop a couple pairs of work-appropriate Tom's.
(Because they are just so comfortable and I'm a sucker for a good cause.)
Now just deciding which ones I like best...

Black and sparkly
(to wear with black pants):

Gilded herringbone
(to sport with khaki's):

Tweed
(both a nod to the Emerald Isle & the fall season):

Or, casual corduroy:

Decisions, decisions.
Off to the mall now so my dogs can stop barkin'.

GO PACK GO!

Who are you routing for

Mid-week motivators

Some invigorating ideas,
from me to you....

These DIY party paper cups from design*sponge are adorbs.
Can't wait to make these for a future party!

This little blurb about "living with chronic bitch face" was too funny!
I know your types well.

I've been on a cupcake kick and these little gems look a-mazing.
I see a possible Halloween application soon.
Thank you, Pastry Affair!

Speaking of cake, wouldn't these little cake pops be fun
for a bridal or baby shower?
Sprinkles in the color scheme!  LOVE it.

On a healthier note, I cannot get over how Kath can make oatmeal
look so appealing, day in and day out.
Congrats, m'dear, congrats.

Bright pops of blue in a white workspace.
Distracting or inspiring?

What's triggering your creativity today?
